The Coachella Valley Firebirds set a franchise record, scoring the most goals in the team's history after an 8-2 victory over the San Jose Barracuda.

The Firebirds improved their record to 2-2 on the season after a huge offensive showing.

Along with the eight goal performance, Max McCormick set a franchise record for most points in a game with 5, scoring two goals and adding three assists.

Chris Driedger tended the goal for the Firebirds en route to his second win of the season, continuing to post impressive numbers with a .948 save percentage.


Shane Wright scored for his second tally of the season with a one-timer in the second period to make the game 4-0.


Luke Henman opened the scoring for Coachella Valley with his first goal of the season.

The 23 year-old defenseman scored 15 points in 67 games for the Firebirds last season.

Coachella Valley's next game is Sunday afternoon against these same San Jose Barracuda.
