Tonight, the NHL will witness a historic moment as the Seattle Kraken extend an invitation to Coachella Valley Firebirds assistant coach Jessica Campbell to join their coaching staff for the game against the Calgary Flames.

#SeaKraken will welcome @Firebirds assistant coach, Jessica Campbell behind the bench tonight at @ClimateArena for the matchup against Calgary.

She is believed to be the first woman to coach an NHL game.

While women have previously served in trainer roles on NHL benches, Campbell will make history as the first woman to coach a game in the league.
