BREAKING | Forward placed on unconditional waiver months after inking a new deal

The Tampa Bay Lightning inked on July 1st the former Oilers and Penguins, Josh Archibald. The forward was placed on unconditional waivers today by the Lightning after he informed the team that he wouldn't be reporting to training camp.

Julien Brisebois, the team's GM, issued the following statement via the team's website:

‘'Yesterday, I was informed by Josh's agent, and by Josh himself in a subsequent conversation, that he was not planning on playing hockey for the time being and that he would not be reporting to training camp. Consequently, Josh was placed on unconditional waivers earlier today for the purpose of terminating his contract.

«We wish Josh, his wife Bailey, and their entire family the very best in their future endeavors.»




Archibald was a 6th round selection in the 2011 Draft. He most recently played with the Oilers and the Penguins.
