Jakob Pelletier injected some humor into the morning skate by joking about his jersey number change, highlighting the ease for coaches to identify him now.

However, the jovial mood took a downturn during the game vs the Seattle Kraken as Pelletier had to exit the ice with assistance after a heavy check into the boards by Marian Studenic, resulting in a major penalty and game misconduct for Studenic.

Pelletier, who was vying for a roster spot, suffered an upper-body injury. Coach Ryan Huska mentioned that doctors would assess him further the next day.

While hoping for a positive outcome, the incident looked concerning, with the regular season approaching in just over two weeks. Teammates expressed concern for their injured friend.
