Statistically, last season was not the best of Philipp Grubauer's career. Grubauer also suited up in 14 playoff games where he was 7-7, with a .903 save percentage and 2.99 GAA.

This is Grubauer's second season with Seattle. The inaugural season for the Kraken was tough as the team was bottom-feeding, finishing 3rd last. Grubauer had a tough year posting the worst winning percentage, GAA and save percentage of his career. Last season, the Kraken turned the tide becoming a playoff team. Grubauer faced injuries which partly led to his tough statistical season.
The Kraken will be hoping for Grubauer to bounce-back with a healthy full season, and bring back his top form such as when he played in Colarado. Grubauer posted outstanding numbers, a 1.95 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 40 games in 2020-21.
