Kraken Defensemen Playing Among NHL's Best

Most of the discourse surrounding the Seattle Kraken's start to the season has been their lack of offensive production.

While the offense has been a topic of discussion, there are two Kraken defensemen quietly performing among the NHL's best.

Jamie Oleksiak and Adam Larsson both find themselves in the top 15 in shots blocked across the entire NHL.

Oleksiak has 21 blocks on the season, tied with three other players for the fourth most in the league.

The three players tied with Oleksiak are Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb, Calgary's MacKenzie Weegar, and Anaheim's Ilya Lyubushkin. All of which play in the Pacific Division.

Adam Larsson sits 11th in blocked shots behind Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson, but tied with five other players.

Nashville's Ryan McDonagh, Detroit's Moritz Seider and Jake Walman, Tampa's Mikhail Sergachev, and Columbus' Ivan Provorov are all tied with Larsson at 18 blocked shots.

As Seattle looks to find their rhythm, they'll always be able to rely on their two shutdown defensemen.
