Former Seattle Kraken forward Morgan Geekie had a strong weekend with his new team for his first points of the season.

Geekie signed with the Boston Bruins over the summer in wake of their need for depth at the center position.

In back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks, Geekie had a goal and an assist. The goal coming against Los Angeles on Saturday night, tallying his first goal as a Bruin.

Geekie called his first goal a "right place, right time kind of thing."

In 142 games with the Kraken, Geekie tallied 50 points. The 25-year-old was not tendered a qualifying offer by General Manager Ron Francis, sending Geekie into unrestricted free agency.

This season, Geekie is averaging 14:49 time on ice for Boston, and posting a 59.1% at the faceoff dot. He is on pace to set career highs despite how early in the season it still is.
