The Tampa Bay Lightning were eliminated from the playoffs by the Florida Panthers last Monday night. The Lightning fell 6-1 in Game 5, to lose the series 4-1. During Game 5, the Lightning had 2 goals disallowed for goaltender interference. This prompt the Lightning head coach Jon Cooper to state that we might as well put skirts on the goalies.

Jon Cooper opened his press conference by apologizing for his goalies wearing skirts comments. «Quite frankly, it was wrong.» Said it has pained him more than the series loss. Especially with daughters at home. Wishes he could go back in time and take it back.

After the season ended for the Lightning, they had a press conference where Jon Cooper apologized for his goalies wearing skirts comments. Clearly, Cooper feels bad about his comments and regrets them, and we will see if anything else comes from this.
