Seattle's matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday will see Carolina without one of their top defenseman.

Brett Pesce was re-evaluated for a lower-body injury on Wednesday, revealing that his injury was worse than initially expected.
Bad news. I was hoping he'd be a day or two away, but that's definitely not the case
said Carolina head coach, Rod Brind'Amour.
When asked if the injury would be week-to-week, Brind'Amour said it would be way more than that.
The 28 year-old defenseman has two points in five games to start this season and is a plus three.
Pesce is widely considered one of the best shut-down defenseman in the NHL, being a large part of their trip to the Eastern Conference Final last season.
With the Hurricanes being last in the NHL for goals against, they will need some big performances from Jaccob Slavin, Brady Skjei, and Brent Burns to hold it down defensively.
