TSN's Yost Analyzes Kraken's Risky Signing

Travis Yost of TSN discusses the good, bad, and ugly of recent NHL free-agent signings. Notably, he labels the Seattle Kraken's seven-year, $6.3 million AAV deal with Chandler Stephenson as "ugly."
While Yost acknowledges Stephenson's speed and faceoff skills, he argues that such a substantial commitment should come with high expectations. He questions if the Kraken will get their money's worth, stating, "When you sign players to big deals, you want to be reasonably confident they are driving the bus. Looking at a three-year sample of Stephenson playing with (or without) Stone, I see anything but."
Red Wings Update
Bob Duff discusses when center Nate Danielson might be ready to play for the Red Wings.
Former Red Wings prospect Andrew Gibson impressed at the Nashville Predators development camp. Detroit traded Gibson to the Preds on June 25.
GM Steve Yzerman insists it's a coincidence that the Red Wings have acquired multiple University of Michigan players.
