Despite the conclusion of Seattle's season, the Kraken remain active on the transactions front, focusing on the development of their prospects.

The latest move sees the team bolstering their defensive lineup by signing defenseman Caden Price to a three-year entry-level contract, as announced by the team via X. The deal, carrying an average annual value of $908K, marks an exciting step forward for the 18-year-old talent.
Price, selected by the Kraken in the third round of last June's draft at the 84th overall pick, showcased his potential during a standout season with WHL Kelowna. Accumulating 40 points, Price's impressive performance laid the groundwork for his continued growth and success. This season, he elevated his game even further, notching 13 goals and 42 assists in 62 regular-season appearances with the Rockets. His contributions didn't wane in the playoffs, where he added another goal and ten assists in 11 contests, earning him a well-deserved spot on the All-WHL Second Team.
With Kelowna's elimination from the WHL playoffs, Price now has the opportunity to join AHL Coachella Valley for their postseason campaign. However, his future remains open-ended, as he faces the decision between pursuing a spot with the Firebirds next season or returning to junior hockey with the Rockets. While the latter scenario seems probable, Price's performance next season will ultimately determine his path.
Of note is Price's contract status, which allows for flexibility in his development. If he plays fewer than ten NHL games next season, his contract will slide, preserving its three-year term and positioning him for continued growth and success with the Kraken in the years to come.
As Price embarks on this exciting new chapter with the Seattle Kraken, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing his progression and contributions to the team's future endeavors. With his talent and potential, Price embodies the Kraken's commitment to cultivating a competitive and dynamic roster for the seasons ahead.
