The Toronto Maple Leafs named Craig Berube as their new head coach on Friday but before he could make it behind the bench, his past has come to haunt him. Racially charged language he used at a player has recently resurfaced.

The resurfaced newsreel has Leafs fans up in arms when they discovered that their newly appointed head coach had called Peter Worrell of the Florida Panthers a racial slur in 1997. The incident occurred while Berube was playing for the Washington Capitals.

As Toronto fans come to grips with the news, the Seattle Kraken has yet to name a new Head Coach with favorites like Dan Bylsma and Jay Leach still in the running following Rod Brind 'Amour's multi-year contract extension.
