The 1st of June was a fantastic night for the Seattle Kraken organization and Kraken top prospect Jagger Firkus as he won a slew of awards with the WHL and CHL.

It became clear he was the front runner for all these awards and in the end he 1 the top score and player of the year for both WHL and CHL hockey. To add the icing on the cake he also won a Western Hockey League championship which adds a significant amount to his trophy case.
Firkus was drafted by the Kraken in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, second round, 35th overall. The 20-year-old right winger who stands at 511 and 161 pounds has been with the Moose Jaw warriors since 2020.
In the 2023-2024 season was by far his best season in his hockey life as he played 63 games, scoring 61 goals and 65 assists for 126 points and was a + 31 with 30 penalty minutes. He also was dominant in the playoffs as he played twenty games and scoring 14 goals with 18 assists for 32 points and was a + 9.
This dominant player will likely get a good look at training camp by general manager Ron Francis and soon to be head coach Dan Bylsma as he was promoted from the Coachella Valley Firebirds earlier last week.
A player of his calibre would certainly help the Kraken who have been depleted of goals over the past season and helped lead them to miss of the playoffs.
This player certainly gives the team an organization much to be pleased about.
