Kraken Sign Eeli Tolvanen to 2-Year Contract

The Seattle Kraken have agreed to a two-year, $6.95 million contract with restricted free agent Eeli Tolvanen. The deal, announced Friday, will see Tolvanen count $3.475 million against the salary cap through the 2025-26 season.
A first-round pick by Nashville in 2017, Tolvanen found a home in Seattle after being claimed off waivers early in the 2022-23 season. Playing primarily alongside Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand, Tolvanen has recorded 32 goals and 36 assists in 129 games with the Kraken over the past two seasons. Last season, he set career highs with 41 points and 25 assists.
With Tolvanen signed, center Matty Beniers is Seattle's only remaining restricted free agent. Beniers, the 2022-23 Calder Trophy winner, had 37 points in 77 games last season.
In other news, the Kraken have signed first-round pick Berkly Catton to a three-year entry-level contract. Catton, selected eighth overall in last month's draft, notched 116 points (54 goals, 62 assists) in 68 games for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League last season.
