Berkly Catton Throws First Pitch at Mariners' Game

The Seattle Kraken's 2024 first-round draft pick, forward Berkly Catton, threw the ceremonial first pitch at a recent Mariners' game. The team announced that they have signed Catton to a three-year, entry-level contract, carrying an annual cap hit of $975,000 through the 2026-27 season.
«We are excited to have Berkly signed to his first professional contract,» said Seattle Kraken general manager Ron Francis. «He brings elite hockey sense, an ability to score, and a high compete level. He has had an impressive three seasons in the WHL, and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop.»
The five-foot-11 Saskatoon native had a breakout year with the WHL's Spokane Chiefs during the 2023-24 season. He tallied 54 goals and 62 assists for 116 points in 68 games, more than doubling his total from the previous year with 55 points in five fewer games.
