The Seattle Kraken upset the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night in a 5-4 overtime thriller, ending the Wings' five-game winning streak.

Seattle was bailed out early by the post, as Joe Veleno missed an open net, ringing his shot off the crossbar.

Veleno would not stay quiet for very long as he would bury his fourth goal of the season early in the second period.

Jaden Schwartz would tie the game for Seattle before getting his second tally of the night to give the Kraken the lead.

Late in the second period, rookie Tye Kartye would sneak behind the Detroit defense, scoring a breakaway goal for his second of the season.

Some penalties early in the third period allowed Detroit to get back into the game, with newly added Shayne Gostisbehere firing a one-timer past Joey Daccord to cut Seattle's lead to one.

Shortly after, Detroit's captain Dylan Larkin scored in tight, firing the puck over Daccord's shoulder.

Alex Debrincat would then continue his scoring streak with another power play goal to give Detroit the lead.

However, Seattle would get some luck with getting a 5 on 3 penalty late in the game, pulling Daccord for the extra attacker where Jared McCann would tie the game, forcing overtime.

After some sustained zone-time by Seattle, McCann would give Jordan Eberle a tap-in goal with four seconds left in overtime, securing a win for the Kraken.

Joey Daccord improves his record to 2-0-1 on the year, stopping 23 shots, as Seattle travels to Carolina for Thursday's game.
