Rod Brind'Amour's Contract Extension Withdrawn by Hurricanes.

As per TSN's Darren Dreger, the Hurricanes have retracted their previous contract extension offer to head coach and former captain Rod Brind'AmourRod Brind'Amour. His current deal expires after this season.
Rod Brind'Amour's future as Carolina's coach is up in the air. Recently, a deal seemed close, but it's believed the offer to extend the highly-respected coach has been pulled. Sources say Brind'Amour wants to stay, but may have to test the market if an agreement can't be reached.
The Hurricanes' win against the Islanders marks their sixth consecutive series victory during Brind'Amour's time in Carolina. Brind'Amour now joins Pat Burns as one of only two coaches in NHL history with a six-year playoff series win streak at the start of their coaching career.
It is no surprise that he is a fan favorite and players love to play for him. Should extension negotiations between Brind'Amour and the 'Canes continue to derail, he would instantly emerge as the most sought-after coaching candidate on the market.
The Kraken could be front runners but it seems that Brind'amour has no desire to leave the Carolina Hurricanes franchise.
"He wants to be a Hurricane for life» and that «there's going to be a solution here very quickly.»
All we have to do now is wait until the playoffs are over to see what will happen.
