It was a wild ending in double overtime when cracking prospect defenseman Ty Nelson scored the game-winning goal to force Game 6 and help the North Bay battalion stave off elimination against the oshawa generals. It also capped off a four point night for the young defenseman.

Nelson, 20 was selected by the Kraken in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, in the third round, 68 overall. According to eliteprospects.com he is an elite skater an elite passer of the puck and he also likes to throw the body the occasional time.
During this season for the North Bay battalion, he had played 54 games, scoring 16 goals with 36 assists for 52 points. He also had 50 penalty minutes and was a + 12.
The Battalion are currently in the Eastern Conference championship series of the OHL. It's safe to say they have an uphill battle as they face another elimination game in Game 6.
Game six will be held on May 5th at 2:00 PM in North Bay.
