Three Keys to a Kraken Victory

Seattle looks to get back into the win column against Tampa Bay after falling in regulation to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.

Tampa has had a much better start to the year than the Panthers, and Seattle will need to be sharp in order to beat this tough squad.

Here are some keys to a Kraken victory.

– Stay out of the box

Tampa has the fourth best power play in the NHL right now and do a lot of their damage on the man advantage.

Their lineup is full of star players and quality contributors who can put up numbers.

Seattle's penalty kill is respectively in the middle of the NHL, but taking too many penalties against Tampa will likely cost any team.

– Protect the house

Tampa Bay's offense will take advantage of quality chances every time there is one open.

They average 28.6 shots per game which is 13th in the league, and their goals per game is 8th.

The Lightning are not a perimeter team either, as they have many guys who will crash the net for a greasy goal.

Guys like Brandon Hagel and Nick Paul have become huge contributors for this team by doing that.

– Shoot the puck

Looking back to Saturday's game, the Kraken did not get many shots throughout the entire game and were not testing Bobrovsky as much as they should have.

Against Tampa Bay, there is opportunity for that to change.

Tampa is 30th in shots against per game with 34.8, giving their goaltender a lot of work to do.

If Seattle can get pucks on net, the chances will come.
