The Seattle Kraken fell 3-2 in overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.

After a strong offensive showing against Detroit, this game looked like it would be much of the same.

In the first period, Oliver Bjorkstrand took the puck into the Canes zone, cut to the middle and fired a shot over Frederik Andersen's shoulder for the 1-0 lead.

Devin Short would then double the lead for the Kraken on a breakaway goal for his first goal in a Seattle sweater.

Carolina's Martin Necas would cut the Seattle lead in half after Brian Dumoulin took a fall in the corner and the Canes pounded on the rebound.

The Hurricanes would begin running away with the shot totals, putting up 45 total in the game.

In the dying minutes of the third period, Carolina would set up a textbook passing play to Jesperi Kotkaniemi who one-timed the puck past Daccord to tie the game at two.

The game would go to overtime where Seattle kept pressuring Carolina and tested Frederik Andersen who robbed them of the win.

In the same fashion as how the Kraken won on Tuesday, Martin Necas would score the winning goal with seconds to spare in overtime, securing the win for Carolina.

Seattle's road trip continues on Saturday when they play the Florida Panthers.
